Six fields, checked against the minimums you enter. Green means the reported ceiling and visibility are at or above your numbers. Red means one of them is below.
Pull each plate, read the DA/MDA and visibility off the minimums block, and type them in. Use HAT/HAA in feet above the airport — METAR ceilings are AGL, so the two line up. If you fly more than one approach at a field, enter the lowest one you’re actually authorized and equipped for. Saved to this browser.
| Field | Approach | Ceiling ft | Vis SM | Plate |

If the feed is blocked or you’re on a captive portal, paste raw METARs here — one per line, any order. Pasted observations override the feed for those fields until you clear them.
The board tries these in order and stops at the first one that answers. CheckWX is the primary source once you add a key. Direct calls to aviationweather.gov are the best data for Alaska but the FAA doesn’t permit cross-origin requests, so a browser falls through to the alternatives below it.
CheckWX API key — free tier is 3,000 requests a day, far more than this board needs. Get one at checkwxapi.com. It’s stored in this browser and sent as a request header, but anyone with access to this machine can read it, so use a key issued for this board alone.
Relay used for the proxied sources. Point this at your own relay if you have one — a public proxy sits between you and the FAA and can serve stale or altered data, so keep an eye on the raw METAR text on each card.
